Who we are
Forth & Future was founded by three friends — Shaun, Drupad, and Ifeoluwa — who shared one simple goal: to make it easier for new international students to settle into life in Scotland. What started as a university project quickly grew into a passion for community, culture, and sustainability.
We noticed that while Scotland is famous for its friendliness, arriving as an international student can still feel overwhelming — new customs, different weather, and even recycling rules that don’t quite match what you’re used to. So we created Forth & Future as a space that bridges those gaps.
Our project combines practical guidance with real human connection. Through our interactive website, you can learn about everyday sustainability in Scotland — things like public transport, waste sorting, thrift shopping, and local etiquette — all explained in a way that’s fun and easy to follow. But we also go beyond the screen: our on-campus events and student ambassador programme bring people together for tea, conversation, and shared experiences.
The name “Forth & Future” represents both our Scottish roots (inspired by the Forth bridges) and our forward-looking mission — building a future where every student feels at home, included, and part of a more sustainable campus community.
Whether you’ve just arrived in Edinburgh or have been here a while, we invite you to join us — connect, learn, and help make the future a little brighter, together. 💚
